Statesmen & Leaders
Winston Churchill
Churchill leans on his stick in a greatcoat, glowering across at the House of Commons he dominated for half a century. The statue is deliberately rugged — Roberts-Jones modelled the pose on photographs of Churchill inspecting bomb damage — and it has become the backdrop to almost every major national moment in the square.
