William Huskisson
Huskisson, a reforming trade minister, was struck by Stephenson's Rocket at the opening of the Liverpool & Manchester Railway in 1830 — the first widely reported railway death. Gibson dressed him, incongruously, in a Roman toga, prompting one critic to call it 'boredom rising from the bath'.
